GGateway Social Model
GGateway social mission aims to reduce high unemployment rate among IT graduates in Gaza by mobilizing donors’ fund and business revenue to establish a learning workplace to integrate Gaza ICT graduates into ICT market. Graduates leave the enterprise after approximately 12 months of training and work experience as qualified Project Associates with employable CVs. On the long run, the core business skills of GGateway – contract and project management – are planned to be transferred to IT sector firms in the form of commercial training and, eventually, subcontracts. Firms taking on those subcontracts will find a qualified and ready project team in the GGateway’s Project Associates.
GGateway Social Intervention
1- GGateway Capacity Building Program
GGateway capacity building program has an employment framework that is compatible with EU ICT profiles and consider the weaknesses of ICT Labor in order to bridge the gap between the IT market’s demand and the graduates’ skills. The following paragraph goes through the gaps in IT graduates’ both technical and employment skills, and how GGateway capacity building program addresses these gaps.
2- Local Sector Development
GGateway will establish strong connections with the local private sector sharing its knowledge, people, and workload. This knowledge will be shared with, integrated to, and translated into the sector stakeholders (employers, students, educators, etc.) together with theory of change models and methods in order for the sector to improve the GGateway employment outcomes and sub-contracts.
