KOICA

The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) is a governmental organization under the South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. KOICA’s objective is to enhance the effectiveness of South Korea's grant aid programs for developing countries by implementing the government's grant aid and technical cooperation programs. With the provision of financial support to UNRWA the social enterprise GGateway has been founded in 2015. GGateway, a company registered in Gaza, is supported by KOICA until the end of 2017 through the UNRWA project, “The GGateway – A Social Enterprise for Impact Sourcing of Information Technologies (IT): Prospects for Development in the Gaza Strip under Blockade”. The fundamental goal of the project is that Gaza’s IT sector grows in volume and capacity, employing more graduates, through the establishment of an impact sourcing social enterprise, which delivers commercial IT projects.

UNRWA

UNRWA (The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East) is mandated to provide assistance and protection to some five million registered Palestine refugees. Its mission is to help Palestine refugees in Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, West Bank and the Gaza Strip to achieve their full potential in human development, pending a just solution to their plight. UNRWA’s services encompass education, health care, relief and social services, camp infrastructure and improvement, microfinance and emergency assistance. UNRWA is funded almost entirely by voluntary contributions. UNRWA acts as the channel for funding from KOICA to the GGateway, and supports and assures GGateway’s quality of operations until the end of 2017 within the project “The GGateway – A Social Enterprise for Impact Sourcing of Information Technologies (IT): Prospects for Development in the Gaza Strip under Blockade”.
